Norway is justifiably ranked as one of the most advanced fishing nations in the world. With coastline 2,735 km long and a terrain not conductive to intensive farming, it is not surprising that Norwegians turned to the sea for sustenance. Consequently, over many generations, Norwegians have become very skilled at harvesting the abundant life found in the unpolluted seas off the cost of Norway. This harvesting of the sea is not undertaken lightly or with total disregard for marine ecology. Norwegians are very conscious of the fragility of marine ecology and understand that this resource has to be managed responsibly in order to sustain stock and, consequently, their livelihood. With this in mind, they have put themselves at the very forefront of research into every aspect of marine life and fishing.

Seagarden's policy is to make full use of the high quality raw materials from this harvesting of Norway's "local" waters. By doing this, we maintain both the quality of the raw materials we use and assure consistency of supply so that our customers can be assured of receiving a first class quality Seagarden seafood ingredients, time after time.
